“Samathi in Patanjali’s yoga sutra is defined as ‘pasanatulya’ consciousness. It describes a stone – like consciousness where you don’t feel anything. But that is not the purpose of Sahaj Marg. Sahaj Marg wants us to develop a three-hundred-and-sixty-degree consciousness all around. In Sahaj Marg, e speak of ‘sahaj Samathi’. What does sahaj samathi means according to our Masters? Sahaj Samathi is not like an ordinary samathi here your condition becomes like a
stone- a stone-like condition, pasanatulya. In Sahaj Marg, e meditate ith awareness. We have three-hundred-and-sixty-degree awareness: I am not focusing on the leaves or the waves, instead I am seeing everything – in front, in the back, past, present, future – everything is in my view. While I am working, I am focused on my work. I am focussed on my surroundings. I am focused on the TV if it is on in my room. I am focused on something happening outside my room or office. I am focused on my Master. I am focused on the transmission that is happening inside, and focused on the condition that is prevailing ithin me. Focused on something that is about to come in to my system. Focused on my thoughts that are arising and the next step I should be taking; and I remain peaceful seeing all these things at the same moment.
Automatically, this conciousness becomes three-hundred-and-sixty-degree consciousness. I am not focusing on any particular thing. The moment I focus on a particular thing, it is no longer meditation, but concentration instead.”

Apples have been falling since the dawn of creation, this is an ordinary event happen everyday. Only a very few observe it, get obsessed with it, work hard on the subject, drown in it and bring out extraordinary results while others brush it off as an everyday occurrence.

The same circumstance that is labelled as a chance by ordinary men is considered an opportunity by a man with awareness. This world is full of opportunities for us, the nature is waiting everyone of us to expose, explore and excel.

Only genuine, positive thinkers and conscious people can identify the possibilities and opportunities. The optimists are the one who end up saying, wherever, whatever and whomever I am seeing or experiencing is an opportunity for me to learn, to grow, to achieve and to become what I want to or should to become.

There was a farmer in Africa who was living with his family working on his farm, having desire to become millionaire. One day a wise man came to him and told him about the glory of diamonds and the power that goes along with them. The wise man said, “If you had a diamond the size of your thumb, you could have your own city. If you had a diamond the size of your fist, you could probably own your own country.” And then he went away. That night the farmer couldn’t sleep. The next morning he made arrangements to sell off his farm, took care of his family and went in search of diamonds. He looked all over Africa and couldn’t find any. He looked all through Europe and couldn’t find any. When he got to Spain, he was emotionally, physically and financially broken. He got so disheartened that he jumped into the Barcelona River and committed suicide.

The person who had bought his farm was watering the camels at a stream that ran through the farm. Across the stream, the rays of the morning sun hit a stone and made it sparkle like a rainbow. He thought it would look good on the mantle piece. He picked up the stone and put it in the living room. That afternoon the wise man came and saw the stone sparkling. He asked, “Is Hafiz back?” The new owner said, “No, why do you ask?” The wise man said, “Because that is a diamond. I recognize one when I see one.” The man said, no, that’s just a stone I picked up from the stream. Come, I’ll show you. There are many more.” They went and picked some samples and sent them for analysis. Sure enough, the stones were diamonds. They found that the farm was indeed covered with acres and acres of diamonds. When our attitude is right, we realize that we are all walking on acres and acres of Diamonds. Opportunity is always under our feet. We don’t have to go anywhere. All we need to do is develop our consciousness to recognize it. When people don’t know how to recognize opportunity, they complain of noise when it knocks. Be open minded, watch all events with a sense of surprise and wonder that marks the beginning of you realizing the opportunities under you, near you and around you.

“Consciousness is drawn inward, but then even when we wake up we are not aware. You see apples keep falling, but Newton could feel and observe. Awareness is required. Full awareness is required.”
